Hey, guys! It’s been over a month since my last blog post and I’m really sorry about that. I’ve been dealing with a couple of personal issues so I ended up putting everything on the back burner until I started figuring things out. Not only that but in the run up to Christmas I wanted to spend some time with my family without having to worry about posting. So, I ended up taking an unintentional break but I’m back now! I’m full of ideas ready for the new year and I can’t wait to share them with you all so watch this space.
I’m back with a post that you’ve probably seen a lot of over the past two days. I know that some people love these posts and some people really aren’t a fan but I’m writing it to show off. I’m so so thankful and grateful for everything that I’ve had over Christmas. I know that I’m really fortunate for everything that I was given and that some people aren’t as well off. It’s just a fun sort of post though and it’s a nice one to ease myself back into blogging. So, without further ado, here’s what I got for Christmas.
These aren’t in any particular order to be honest, it’s just whatever I managed to pick out of the bag.
My sister got me three of the Body Shop’s bath bubbles which I’m pretty excited to use. I’ve seen them a lot around Instagram but hadn’t really had the chance to pop into the shop to buy any, I’m in love with the smell of the Pink Grapefruit one since it’s always been one of my favourites lines from the shop. No doubt that these are going to be used pretty quickly.
I love the jewellery Estella Bartlett makes so much but it’s been a while since I’ve had anything from there. I pointed these bracelets out to mum when we were out shopping one day so I’m extremely happy they ended up as one of my presents. I’ve never been a huge fan of chunky jewellery and I love stars so this was perfect.
I’ve been after a couple of the NYX glitter for a while since I wanted to experiment a couple of looks with them. The kit my parents got me has a copper, gold and a red in there along with their glitter primer so hopefully I can use this over the holidays and see how it goes.
I also got this cute, tinned, trivia game called True or False? which I’m going to end up using with the family on New Year’s Eve. I love games like these but that’s mostly because I’m really competitive, so this is going to be a fun one.
One of the other things that my sister got me was the Snow Fair Sparkle Jar from Lush. The Snow Fairy range is my favourite thing to buy and I wait every year for Lush to release it at Christmas time. The Sparkle Jar was a new edition to the line this year. It double up as a body glitter and a moisturising bar and smells just as amazing as the rest of the line.
She also ended up getting me a cult classic in the form of the MAC Ruby Woo lipstick. I’ve been looking for a good red lipstick for a while and I’ve been eyeing up Ruby Woo. I just never took the dive to buy it. I haven’t tried it out yet but when I swatched it, the colour was gorgeous!
As well as that, I also got this amazing print from Gemma at Dorkface Blog from my sister. It’s one of my favourite quotes and it’s something of a mantra for me. I’m going to frame this before I hang it up in my room.
My parents for me one of the most useful presents this year. I’m always on a hunt for a hair towel in this house so I finally have my own. I’ve not really got an excuse to use anyone else’s anymore.
Nan also got me this gorgeous rose gold/copper coloured nail varnish, which does look a little more gold in the picture. She knows that me and may sister love the colour so she ended getting us the same one. I need to try and let my nails grow out a little bit so I can actually paint them.
Ffion gave me two gorgeous presents in the form of a five year memory book and a blank notebook. The memory book is something that I can’t wait to start using in the new year. It’s going to be a great way to reflect on at least one food thing that’s happened each day. I’m not entirely sure what I’m going to use the notebook for yet but I always get a little nervous when I get a new notebook. I feel like there’s this huge weight on my shoulders where I have to make sure that I don’t let the pages go to waste. So, I always panic over what to use it for but I know I’ll find something.
I haven’t actually watched Moana yet which is a travesty, I know! My sister ended up getting me the DVD because she knows that I’ve been dying to watch it. This one is definitely going to be watched with the rest of my family before uni starts back. Pretty much everyone I know that’s watched the movie has loved it so I have high hopes.
Now, I’m not a huge fan of Zoella. To be honest, I’m not really a fan at all but when I saw these lip balms, I did really want to get them. They smelt lush and you can never have too many lip balms. Especially since I always manage to lose them before I finish them. I ended up asking mum if she could get me these so I could try them out.
Along with a few of the other things my nan got me, she also got me this lovely perfume set from next. The fragrance is really light and something that I would definitely wear.
Pyjamas are some of my favourite presents to receive and my parents know that which is why I got these gorgeous set of Disney ones. To be honest, when I first opened it and saw the top, I didn’t think it was a set of pyjamas because of all the sequins but I was mistaken. Pretty much all of my pyjamas are Disney themed so I’ve just got another set to add to them.
My aunt got me the Take Your Pink Soap and Glory gift set. It’s got some of their staple bits in there, the Righteous Butter and Hand Food hand cream to name two. Soap and Glory are one of the brands that I know I can trust not to irritate my sensitive skin. So, I know I’m not going to have a problem using these.
I don’t know why I didn’t appreciate having socks as a gift as a child. Fluffy or not. I was so excited to open presents up for my parents and nan to see that I know have three sets of fluffy socks, one of which I’m wearing as I write this post. Honestly, there’s no better gift and they’re really cute as well so I’m not going to complain.
I haven’t had the chance to read any of Giovanni Fletcher’s books, so when Zara got me You’re The One That I Want I got really excited to read it. As soon as I finish the Neil Gaiman one I’m reading at the moment, I’ll be starting this.
I was also given one of Nadiya’s cook books which I’m extremely excited to start using. There’s such a wide variety of recipes in there so there’s always going to be something different to make.
My main present from my parents this year was the Kindle Paperweight that I’ve been looking at for a little while. I’m never going to turn my back on the traditional paperback but all of the ARC books on Netgalley are sent via Kindle. It’s also a little easier for me to travel with it instead of a paperback because I’m always worried that I’ll end up with a damaged book. I’m really looking forward to using this now, all I need to do is get a cover for it.
So, that’s what I had for Christmas. All of which I am extremely grateful for and I’m very blessed to have been given what I did.
I hope you all had an amazing Christmas if you do celebrate and if you don’t, I hope you’ve had a lovely break.
I’d love to know what you guys have been up to and what you got for Christmas so let me know in the comment.
